At 3:21 a.m. this morning, Wyoming Fire–EMS was dispatched for a working fire in a 12- family apartment building on Williams Street in Lockland. Ladder, Rescue, and Squad 97 responded. Information from the Communications Center advised that one individual had already jumped from a third story window and several other residents were at windows awaiting rescue upon our arrival. Lockland and Woodlawn crews made an initial interior attack on the fire and Woodlawn rescued an adult and two children while Wyoming and Forest Park ladder crews ventilated the roof. Due to the condition of the third floor, crews were then backed out and the fire was fought from the exterior until darkened down to allow an interior overhaul. Damage to the building and contents was estimated at $700,000 and Wyoming units remained
on scene until 8:30 a.m.
