Senator Rob Portman’s office announced that Wyoming Fire – EMS will be receiving a $99,978.00 2012 Fire Act Grant for the purchase of four Life Pak 15 monitor defibrillators. These will replace our 14 year-old Life Pak 12 units that are presently carried on the Wyoming medic vehicles. In 2014, the Life Pak 12’s will no longer be supported by the manufacturer. In addition, one of the new units will be placed on Wyoming’s Ladder 97 for immediate use in the event of a downed firefighter as the Ladder is also used as the Rapid Assistance Team (RAT) at structure fires in several of our neighboring communities. This brings the total award of federal and state grants to Wyoming Fire – EMS at $1.6 million since 2003.
